Empowering Young Leaders of Tomorrow (EYLT): Maasin and Bato, Leyte

The EYLT project has two main thrusts: a.) facilitate the capacity building and work with potential youth leaders/youth facilitators and b.) together with their families and communities, youth leaders/facilitators will work in building resilience and life skills/lifelong learnings among all other children and young people in their respective barangays (villages). As this was a short term (1 year) project, sustainability beyond the project life is of utmost importance.

During its implementation, ERMFPI has worked with over 450 children and youth and formed youth leaders that will carry on what has been initiated in their communities. It has also worked with their families and the existing local governance structures in order to build an environment for children and youth that is caring, safe and supportive of its dreams and aspirations.
