With over 150 families joining in the cause to build a better and more liveable communities, the trash for cash initiative is a way to motivate them in being environmentally conscious while providing support in their day to day needs through food items and monetary incentives. Launched in 2021, this initiative enables families to trade recyclable materials through a point system that could be exchanged for basic commodities. Earlier this year, families in Brgy. Carreta and Tinago have managed to turn the recycled bottles into pots for their hanging gardens. As space is tight in this slum community, these hanging gardens made planting vegetables possible.
There is still so much work to be done, help us in making a difference to the lives of over 625 families in the focal communities. Any assistance to the Trash for Cash initiative not only benefit the families in these communities, it can be deeply rewarding for you too.
